Brown, the Bermudan [sic] premier, said he had read a Washington Post article on the issue of the Guantanamo Bay detainees' fates while in the U.S. for a White House meeting in May and decided to put an offer to the U.S. government "on the table."
But according to the Bermuda Sun:
The Immigration Minister [David Burch] revealed a request had been made to Bermuda by Guantanamo Bay Czar Ambassador Daniel Fried, who was appointed by President Obama to find countries willing to assist.
So did we approach them or did they approach us?
