My dad, my hero

Technical, space and town Lego

"Just retrieved all your old Lego from the loft – see attached pictures.

Amazed ourselves with how much stuff you had and as you can see, still with some of the original boxes. Also with all of the instruction leaflets and booklets as well. The assembled pieces are just as you abandoned them, when you were about 10, for the computer! We even found an astronaut on a digger!

Hope this will have made your day. But to ship this lot to Bermuda would cost a fortune!!!

Dad"

Alas, I think he's probably right. Guess I'll just have to take a large, empty suitcase with me next time I go to the UK.

More pictures here. Thanks for digging it all out, dad!

That's incredible that your parents still have your legos. I wish mine had my legos. I would love to pass them down to my son.

What a dad!!

You have the technic car too - just about the coolest thing at the time. That was my present for passing the Hymers entrance exam!

I also need to thank my mother for not chucking all this stuff out, or passing it on to the charity shops!

Wow...that is amazing with instruction and boxes. I still have most of my sets when I was growing up here (mostly packed in plastic tubs due to space). I though about insuring them, but how do you insure something that is priceless?

      PC: Mass Effect
Heavily story-driven sci-fi RPG. So far I think I've spent more time selecting dialog options in conversations and reading log entries than I have running around shooting things. It makes for a relatively slow paced game, but one that's much more compelling.

      The Dark Knight
A fantastic movie, with outstanding acting by Heath Ledger as the Joker, although it probably goes on for a little too long. It's a dark movie though and definitely not suitable for young kids.

One of the reasons I love the movie Black Hawk Down is the music. I only learned today that this guy was one of the contributors. It's an energetic fusion of Middle Eastern and Western rhythmns. I bought it on the strength of Barra Barra (the track from Black Hawk Down) alone, but I think I'm going to love the rest of it too.
